Drive Version with 1.0 Firefly Engine and Manual Transmission Costs R$ 86,990 with IPI Exemption, but Model Shows Signs of Aging
The Fiat Argo 2026 continues to be available in a manual version in Brazil, a feat that is becoming increasingly rare among passenger cars. With a 1.0 aspirated engine and a five-speed transmission, the hatch has a starting price of R$ 94,990 — but can be purchased for R$ 86,990 thanks to the IPI exemption through the federal government’s Sustainable Car program.
Even with a competitive price, the Fiat Argo 2026 faces competition from more modern models and already shows signs of fatigue in its design. With no plans for a deep update, it is expected to remain on the market until the arrival of the new generation based on the Smart Car platform, anticipated in the next two years.
Updated Visual, but Still Simple

In the 2026 line, the Argo received LED headlights on the more expensive versions and a new front grille. In the case of the Drive 1.0 version, the visual remains simple, with 14-inch wheels with hubcaps, but the design is pleasing. Inside, there is a lot of hard plastic and modest finishing, with visible burrs on some parts.

The hatch measures 4.03 meters in length and 1.72 m in width, with a wheelbase of 2.52 m. The interior space is reasonable, but taller passengers struggle in the back seat. The 300-liter trunk fulfills its function well for a couple or urban use, but the full-width rear seat limits flexibility.
Multimedia Center Pleases, but Safety Disappoints

The UConnect 7-inch multimedia center with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is a positive point. Simple and intuitive, it works well in everyday use, although it is already outdated compared to newer Fiat models.
The safety package falls short: there are only two mandatory airbags, with no rearview camera standard (available only in the optional Drive Top package). Stability, traction controls, and hill start assist are basic items included. But it lags behind competitors like HB20 and Onix, which offer up to six airbags.
Honest Performance and Efficient Consumption
The 1.0 Firefly engine with 75 hp and five-speed manual transmission delivers simple yet functional driving. The car responds well in urban traffic, with soft gears and short shifts that help with take-offs. On highways, however, the acceleration is slow and 0 to 100 km/h takes 13.9 seconds.
In terms of consumption, the numbers are balanced. According to Inmetro, the Argo achieves up to 14.5 km/l with gasoline on the highway and 13.6 km/l in the city. With ethanol, the figures drop to 10.4 km/l and 9.4 km/l, respectively. In real use, urban averages above 12 km/l with gasoline are possible.
Maintenance Cost and Market Position
One of the attractions of the Fiat Argo 2026 is its low maintenance cost. The average cost of the first five services is around R$ 4,000, according to Autoesporte’s Qual Comprar 2025 survey. The parts basket is also affordable: around R$ 8,177.
Despite this, the model suffers from the aging of its design. Even with the light restyling, the Argo is already losing ground to more modern rivals and is expected to be replaced by the Grande Panda by 2027. In 2025, it remains an entry option for those who still prefer the good old manual transmission.
Is It Worth Buying the 1.0 Manual Argo in 2025?
It Depends. For beginner drivers, ride-hailing drivers, or those looking for low cost, efficiency, and simplicity, the Fiat Argo 2026 is still a good option. But those seeking more performance, safety, or technology should consider more updated competitors.
