Popular Cars Discontinued In The Brazilian Market In 2024
It is worth mentioning that discontinued popular cars remain in the market, but now only in the used sector, as factories no longer produce new models. Focusing first on Chevrolet, models such as the Cruze and Cruze Sport6, according to data from the ‘Auto Esporte’ portal, were permanently discontinued this year in 2024.
The end of popular cars, including models from Hyundai, Toyota, and Chevrolet, has arrived and they are no longer being manufactured by the automaker, and the sedan sold just one unit in August. Sales of discontinued popular cars have plummeted in recent months, and as a result, the brand decided to remove these versions from its production line.

Next up were the Bolt and the Bolt EUV, the latter being limited to 200 units, all sold. There are still no forecasts for a new generation for importation to Brazil, remaining out of the daily lives of Brazilians. The Jac iEV330P, an electric truck, is discontinued and is about to be replaced by the Hunter. Its price is R$ 390 thousand, with an economy of 226 kilometers.
Renault, Nissan, And Chery Also Highlight Their Discontinued Popular Cars
The Caoa Chery iCar arrived in June 2022 and was never a sales success, even being one of the cheapest electric cars in Brazil. In 2024, the end of popular electric cars has come, as no units were imported to Brazil, but there are still a few units available for sale in the country. When they run out, there are no forecasts for new arrivals.
The Nissan Leaf was the first electric car sold to consumers in Brazil and was one of the discontinued popular cars, being offered on the automaker’s website until February of this year. However, its price was above the standard compared to some larger electric cars, like the BYD Yuan Plus.
Finally, there is the Renault Stepway, whose end was announced by the brand’s president in Brazil, Ricardo Gondo. However, it was only in July that it was officially discontinued from the automaker’s line, leaving only the 1.0 version in the automotive market.
