The used car market in Brazil remains strong in 2025, and the 2019 Ford Ka Sedan SE Plus 1.5 Automatic has established itself as one of the most complete and balanced options for those looking for an automatic, spacious, and economical car in the R$ 53 thousand range. Even after Ford ended local production, the model continues to be in demand due to its reliable mechanics, efficient consumption, and medium sedan comfort in a compact.
According to the Fipe Table of October 2025, the SE Plus 1.5 automatic version costs around R$ 44.6 thousand, but well-maintained units can reach up to R$ 53.5 thousand in retail — a competitive price compared to 1.0 zero-kilometer hatches that now exceed R$ 90 thousand.
Dragon 1.5 Engine and 6-Speed Automatic Transmission

The new Renault Koleos has a screen exclusively for the passenger that is invisible to the driver, heated rear seats, and 29 assistance systems, but its Chinese competitors cost R$ 40,000 less and deliver more power.
Paired with the 6-speed automatic transmission that has a manual mode, the setup provides a smooth ride without jolts and linear acceleration. According to data from Inmetro and CarrosBR, the sedan achieves up to 11 km/l in the city and 14.2 km/l on the highway with gasoline, ensuring a range of about 720 km with the 51-liter tank.
The performance is also pleasing: the car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 10.6 seconds, a result that surpasses many direct competitors.
Interior Space and Superior Comfort
With 2.49 m of wheelbase and a 445-liter trunk, the Ka Sedan SE Plus offers space similar to that of medium sedans, comfortably accommodating five occupants. The acoustic insulation and elevated driving position provide good ergonomics for urban and highway use.
Inside, the model features a SYNC 2.5 multimedia center with a 6.5-inch touchscreen that is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as voice commands and a multifunction steering wheel. There is also air conditioning, electric steering, a trip computer, and electric locks and windows on all four doors.
Safety and Technology
The 2019 Ka Sedan was one of the first compact cars in its class to offer electronic stability control (ESP) and hill start assist (HLA) as standard. It also comes equipped with front airbags, ABS brakes with EBD, a reinforced high-strength steel structure, and automatic locks based on speed.
In Latin NCAP tests, the model achieved good levels of protection for adults and children, reinforcing its family-friendly profile.
Maintenance Costs and Used Car Market
Even after the closure of Ford’s factories in Brazil, the assistance network remains active and the supply of parts is assured — both by the manufacturer and independent suppliers.
Maintenance costs range from R$ 600 to R$ 800, amounts close to those of compact hatches, and insurance costs around R$ 2 thousand per year, depending on the driver’s profile.
These factors keep the Ka Sedan 1.5 as one of the most economical automatic cars to maintain in its category, with a good history of mechanical reliability and low depreciation.
Comfort and Efficiency Without Exceeding R$ 60 Thousand
The 2019 Ford Ka Sedan SE Plus 1.5 Automatic is currently one of the best purchases in the used car market. It combines satisfactory performance, modern transmission, exemplary fuel consumption, and medium sedan comfort in a compact at a budget-friendly price.
For those looking for a complete, economical automatic car with excellent cost-benefit ratio, this Ford model remains a safe and rational choice — a rarity in times when new cars are surpassing six digits.
