The Petrobras FPSO That Will Operate in the Campos Basin Will Undergo Two Dry Dockings and Additional Conversion Work at a New Chinese Shipyard
The company Yinson announced that the FPSO Anna Nery has entered its next construction phase, marked by its departure from the Cosco Qidong shipyard in Jiangsu, China, to the Cosco Changxing shipyard in Shanghai for its first dry docking. The FPSO is contracted by Petrobras and is expected to be deployed by 2023 in the Marlim field, in the Campos Basin, offshore Brazil.

According to Yinson, the general conversion works are progressing well, with major demolition activities and steel repairs completed. The project management team for Petrobras’ FPSO Anna Nery has also completed progress surveys on the vessel, giving the team a clearer picture of the extent of the repairs needed in the coming months.
“The movement of the FPSO Anna Nery to the second shipyard is an important milestone for us at Yinson and an indicator that, despite the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the project is still progressing smoothly according to schedule,” said Scott, project manager of FPSO Anna Nery Bendiksen.

“In this next phase, the FPSO will undergo two dry dockings and additional conversion work. It will be installed at the Changxing shipyard until the third quarter of 2021, before returning to Qidong for the final phase of lifting and module integration,” he continued.
The Petrobras FPSO Anna Nery is Yinson’s first asset in Brazil and the largest project to date. The platform will have a capacity to process up to 70,000 bpd of oil and 4 million cbm of natural gas in the Marlim field and is expected to achieve first oil by the first quarter of 2023, where it will remain for 25 years.
