FPSO Carioca Platform of Brazilian Giant Petrobras Reaches 175 Thousand Barrels of Oil Per Day (BPD), Approaching Its Total Production Capacity
Petrobras reported in a relevant fact on May 5 that the fourth production well interconnected to the FPSO Carioca, in the Sépia field, in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin, has gone into operation. The opening of the last production well added 41 thousand barrels of oil per day (bpd) to the unit – which already produced 134 thousand bpd. Thus, it became the highest production platform of the Brazilian oil company, now at 175 thousand bpd.
Remember that the FPSO Carioca, a unit leased from Modec, began operations in August 2021 and has a capacity to process up to 180 thousand bpd and compress up to 6 million m³/day of natural gas.
