The Joint Venture Altera&Ocyan Achieved a Significant Milestone in February: The Operation of FPSO Cidade de Itajaí Completed 10 Years, with Over 122 Million Barrels Produced and 3 Million Hours Without Incidents.
The platform ship has safety and performance indices that reinforce the vessel’s success and the operation. Bárbara Figueira, Operations Engineer of the FPSO Cidade de Itajaí, highlighted that “reaching this milestone demonstrates the commitment and competence of the joint venture in ensuring high operational performance and safety, which adds significant market value for Altera&Ocyan and for the client”.
Currently, the FPSO Cidade de Itajaí operates in the Baúna Field, in the Santos Basin, for the Australian oil company Karoon Energy. It produces 80,000 barrels of oil per day, compresses and injects two million cubic meters per day, and operates in water depths of up to 1,000 meters. With this service, the joint venture achieved an uptime above 98% in recent years.
Marcelo Nunes, Managing Director of Altera&Ocyan, emphasizes that the parties have built a good business relationship aimed at meeting mutual interests. In this way, he believes that the results presented can generate good prospects for new opportunities with Karoon Energy.
