The FPSO Cidade de Campos dos Goytacazes MV29, recognized by the World Economic Forum this time, is implemented in the Tartaruga Verde and Tartaruga Mestiça fields in the Campos Basin. MODEC was responsible for the engineering, procurement, construction, mobilization and installation of the FPSO. MODEC is also responsible for the operations and maintenance of the FPSO since 2018.
FPSO Cidade de Campos dos Goytacazes MV29 is the only offshore facility recognized by the Global Lighthouse Network. It is also the first time that a Latin American facility and one operated by a Japanese company are included in the network.
The selection of FPSO Cidade de Campos dos Goytacazes MV29 as Lighthouse of the Fourth Industrial Revolution honors the fleet digitalization project, along with the complete culture change management and operational excellence, developed by MODEC in response to its rapid growth in Brazil.
Today, the company has 10 vessels in operation in Brazil and another four (4) are under construction. Globally, the company has one of the largest fleets in its segment, with 17 ships, and is present in Africa, Asia and Oceania.
Digitization allows the company to better integrate its fleet, making operations safer and more efficient. With more than 10 sensors installed on each vessel, MODEC has increased production by leveraging Advanced Analytics for predictive maintenance, a digital twin of its process plant, and a proprietary data platform to accelerate the development and deployment of new algorithms.
These techniques have enabled a 65% reduction in downtime on the FPSO Cidade de Campos dos Goytacazes MV29 since the start of production, for example, making this facility a leader in the sector.
