According to the Annual Management Report, Gasmig achieved important financial milestones in 2023, such as gross revenue of R$4.155 billion, net equity of R$1.305 billion, and net profit of R$596.1 million. ‘We have never had an investment as large in Gasmig as we are making now.
Since 2013, when the pipelines of South Minas and Vale do Aço were completed, the annual average investment was R$50 million, and last year we reached R$300 million to enable the growth of this network,’ emphasizes Gasmig’s president.
Midwest Project: Expansion of Gasmig’s Pipeline Network
One of the significant milestones for the Minas Gerais Gas Company is the realization of the ‘Midwest Project’, which aims to expand the pipeline network to the Central-West region of Minas, where approximately R$800 million will be invested, adding about 300 km of additional pipelines to Gasmig’s existing distribution network.
The environmental licensing process was completed at the end of 2023, and construction began in March of this year, with an estimated duration of 24 months. The new network will pass through several cities until it reaches Divinópolis, focusing on minimizing environmental impacts and adopting effective mitigation measures, as highlighted by Gilberto Valle.

As a concessionaire for the distribution of natural gas pipelines, Gasmig provides Minas Gerais residents with an essential energy source for the development and growth of the State.
