According to Adil Vitório, manager of the Center-West Project at GASMIG, about 110 kilometers of the Trunk Line, which connects Betim to Divinópolis, are already in the final construction phase. The forecast is to complete this stage in August of this year. The start of operations is scheduled for September. The first to receive the service will be industries and companies that have already signed contracts.
The president of GASMIG, Carlos Colón, emphasized the benefits of natural gas as an energy source. “This partnership is very important for further developing the use of natural gas, which is a safer, more sustainable option and a more interesting energy source for industry,” he stated.
According to him, delivery to the first customers will begin in a few months. The forecast is to expand the lateral lines by mid-next year.
With this new section of the pipeline, Minas Gerais will reach 57 cities with access to natural gas. The president of FIEMG Regional Center-West, Eduardo Soares, celebrated the progress. For him, the arrival of gas represents a significant change for the local economy.
The expectation is that the supply of natural gas will boost industry competitiveness, attract investments, and strengthen the entire productive chain of the region.
