Gasoline And Diesel Prices Rise Again In Brazil, With Increase Reported By Petrobras

In November, Both Fuels, Gasoline and Diesel, Saw an Exponential Increase at Fuel Stations Throughout Brazil

According to UOL, once again the prices of fuels diesel and gasoline at fuel stations in Brazil increased after three months of consecutive declines, based on the Ticket Log Price Index (IPTL), the fleet management and mobility solutions brand from Edenred Brazil.

This increase was recorded just days before the end of the month, with the average price of common diesel rising by 0.8% at fuel stations in Brazil, also being found at R$ 7.02 per liter. When compared to the average of November 2021, which was R$ 5.61 per liter, the increase reaches 25%.

With diesel S-10, the price variations followed the same trend, being sold at R$ 7.11, up from R$ 7.06 in October. “Except for the Southeast Region, fuel stations recorded increases in almost all of Brazilian territory,” according to Douglas Pina, General Director of Mobility at Edenred Brazil.

Increase in Prices of Gasoline and Diesel Fuels Were Identified in the First Half of the Month

“If we analyze the first half of November, we can already identify this behavior of price increases in fuels, which is validated at the end of the month, with the state of Sergipe showing the largest variation of 3.38% for common fuel, and in Ceará 2.64% for S-10.”

In the Southeast region, common diesel saw a decrease of 0.13% compared to October prices, at R$6.67, while S-10 remained stable, sold at R$6.80.

The North Region leads the price increase chain for diesel and gasoline with the highest values, with common diesel sold at R$7.44 (+0.94%) and S-10 at R$7.543 (+1.09%). The IPTL is based on refueling conducted at 21,000 accredited Ticket Log stations.

Increase in Gasoline

The price of gasoline in November in the municipality of São Paulo was R$ 4.96, having increased by 2.26% compared to the average price for October, according to ValeCard, a specialist in fleet management and payment solutions, based on transactions conducted at fuel stations in the city between November 1 and 28.
