Of these, the largest portion was composed of royalties, valued at R$ 38.1 billion, and special participation, which reached R$ 23.6 billion.
Special participation is a tax aimed at large oil fields and plays a fundamental role in the distribution of revenues from the exploration of natural resources.
With data provided by the National Petroleum Agency (ANP), it can be stated that Petrobras was responsible for 65% of the distribution of royalties and special participation in the country.
This weight demonstrates the company’s relevance in the sector and its responsibility in the economic development of oil-producing regions.
Impact of Petrobras on Brazilian Taxes
Petrobras is one of the largest taxpayers in Brazil, representing about 7% of the country’s total revenue.

He also emphasized that Petrobras is present in 22 states and 128 municipalities, being a driving force for regional and national growth.
