Goiás Government Mission to Japan Attracts New Investments in Agriculture and Minerals. State to Receive Japanese Delegation and Green Ammonia Plant by 2027.
During an official mission that concluded last Sunday (20), the Goiás government established strategic partnerships with companies and authorities from Japan, advancing on two main fronts: the agricultural sector and the exploration of rare minerals.
The trip led by Governor Ronaldo Caiado involved six Japanese cities and resulted in promises of investment and technological cooperation.
One of the biggest advances was the confirmation of a visit from a Japanese delegation to Goiás in August to analyze areas with potential for rare earth mining, essential for technologies such as electric vehicles and wind turbines.

Strategic Minerals Put Goiás on Japan’s Radar
The growing global search for alternative sources of rare minerals, which are currently heavily concentrated in China, has sparked Japanese interest in promising areas of Goiás.
Municipalities such as Minaçu, Nova Roma, and Iporá were highlighted by the state government as potential extraction hubs.
Agricultural Sector Receives Investment of R$ 200 Million
Another concrete outcome of the mission was the confirmation of a R$ 200 million investment from the Japanese group Tsubame, in partnership with the company Atvos.
The project plans to install a green ammonia plant in the municipality of Mineiros, with operations expected to begin in 2027.
The input will be produced from sugarcane bagasse and will focus on the production of sustainable fertilizers, strengthening the Goiás agricultural sector with innovation and sustainability.
Goiás Automotive Industry Gains New Momentum
In the industrial sector, the highlight was Mitsubishi Motors, which signed a contract with HPE Motors, its Brazilian subsidiary located in Catalão.
The agreement allows for the export of vehicles produced in Goiás to other countries in Latin America, expanding the operations of the plant, which previously served only the domestic market.
This new step elevates the industrial profile of the state and opens up job opportunities and economic expansion.
Mission Reinforces Goiás’s Image as a Model of Management
During meetings with Japanese authorities — including representatives from the Ministries of Agriculture, Economy, and Foreign Affairs — Caiado also advocated for the opening of the Japanese market to Goiás beef.
Additionally, he presented Goiás as a reference in areas such as health, security, and education, consolidating the state’s image as a reliable partner on the international stage.
The agenda concluded with participation in Expo 2025 Osaka, celebrating the 130th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Brazil and Japan.
Although not personally present at the event, Caiado was represented by members of the state government.
The strengthening of ties between Goiás, the agricultural sector, and mineral exploration with Japanese support reinforces the vision of a modern, competitive state that is attentive to the demands of the current world.
