Project over the Amônia River Will Ensure Mobility and Safety
The construction of the footbridge represents a significant advancement for the residents of Marechal Thaumaturgo. The president of Deracre, Sula Ximenes, emphasized the importance of the project. “The construction of this footbridge represents more dignity for the population“, she stated. According to her, the project brings mobility to those who need it most. The new structure will benefit hundreds of families throughout the year, ensuring a safe and permanent crossing.
Construction Details: How the New Footbridge Is Being Erected
The execution of the project is a partnership with the Negreiros, Vida, and Imperial Consortium and involves a team of 15 workers. The work began with the survey team, which marked the four supporting pillars. Then, excavation for the base of the first pillar was initiated. To ensure the stability of the structure, metal stakes are being driven into the ground with the help of a pile driver, a piece of equipment that functions like a giant hammer to drive the stakes into the soil.

Investment and Partnerships: R$ 5 Million for the Implementation of the Project
The construction has a total investment of R$ 5 million. The funds come from a parliamentary amendment by Senator Márcio Bittar. The project is part of an agreement with the Ministry of Integration and Regional Development (MIDR). Governor Gladson Cameli reinforced the commitment to the population. “Our commitment is to every Acrean, especially those living in more isolated regions”, he said.
Impact of the Construction: More Dignity and Access for Residents
Currently, the population of Marechal Thaumaturgo depends on boats to cross the Amônia River. The crossing is essential for accessing the airstrip and other important areas of the municipality. The new footbridge will eliminate this dependency, facilitating secure movement at any time of the year. “Projects like this show that we are working to ensure access, dignity, and development for everyone”, concluded the governor.
