For this Wednesday (07/20), a total of six new private terminal construction projects are being developed in the national territory, after the Federal Government authorized the development of the structures. Thus, new terminals will be built in ports of great relevance in the national scenario, such as the Port of Santos and the Port of Paranaguá, as a way to attract investments for the segment in the coming years.

This first semester of 2022 has been of great importance for the expansion of port operations in Brazil, and the Federal Government has contributed to this growth by authorizing six new terminal construction projects at national ports. All structures will be used in the private market and will contribute to a strong attraction of investments focused on infrastructure and operational quality in the complexes.
Thus, according to surveys conducted by DataPort, a database of ATP (Association of Private Port Terminals), the construction projects of the structures could attract investments in the range of R$ 10.3 billion.

Among the six projects authorized by the Federal Government to be carried out, two terminals will be installed at the Port of Santos, one of the largest and most relevant in the national scenario. The first of these is the Port Terminal Logistics — TPL, from Triunfo Participações e Investimentos (TPI), which is still seeking a financial partner to make the construction feasible, and has not disclosed what the operational focus of the terminal will be.
However, the company has already made the request and received approval to handle cargoes such as solid bulk, liquids, and general cargo, being able to choose among these types of operations in the use of the terminal, which will have investments of around R$ 2.827 billion for construction.
The third of the six terminal construction projects at Brazilian ports is the TUP EBT — Santorini, from Ageo (Brazilian Company of Terminals and General Warehouses), which already operates liquid bulk terminals at the port, and which will undergo new works with total investments of R$ 3.66 billion.

In addition to the two large projects for constructing new terminals at the Port of Santos, located in São Paulo state, and authorized by the Federal Government, there will also be the installation of four other structures across the country. Among them, three will be located in the North region of Brazil. The first is the Malato Terminal, from Louis Dreyfus Company Brazil, which is expected to be located in Ponta das Pedras, Pará, and will receive total investments of around R$ 450 million for construction.
There is also a terminal aimed at liquid cargoes from Atem Distribuidora de Petróleo, which will be installed in Santarém, also in Pará, with investments of R$ 55.7 million, and the structure of Lajes Logística, intended for the movement of containers and general cargo, in Manaus, which will receive an amount of R$ 175 million for construction. Thus, the North region will be strongly benefited in the movement of goods at its ports.
Finally, the sixth of the terminal installation projects at Brazilian ports is the terminal from Porto Guará lnfraestrutura, in Paranaguá (PR). This is also a large-scale project and will have an amount of R$ 3.2 billion for construction works.
