Harley-Davidson is launching a new brand of electric motorcycles

Harley-Davidson is yet another company that is focused on manufacturing electric vehicles. The North American company announced that its electric motorcycle segment will become part of the LiveWire brand, created exclusively to aggregate the electric products of company

The company decided to create LiveWire to start an all-new electric motorcycle division within Harley-Davidson. The idea was that the new Harley-Davidson electric motorcycles would be part of a segment of the company, however, they changed of idea and LiveWire will become an entirely different brand from HD.

The name LiveWire comes from Harley-Davidson LiveWire, the company's first electric motorcycle that has been on the market since 2019. The product was a huge success in the US, being the best-selling electric motorcycle model in the country norte-americano

"By launching LiveWire as an all-electric brand, we are seizing the opportunity to lead and define the electric vehicle market. With a mission to be the world's most desirable electric motorcycle brand, LiveWire will pioneer the future of motorcycling for the pursuit of urban adventure and beyond.”, highlighted Jochen Zeitz, president and CEO of HD.

The company also took the opportunity to announce that there will be, on the 8th of July, a launch of the new brand. It could be a new product or a new version of Harley-Davidson LiveWire with the new brand.

The trend is for the company to continue investing in urban electric motorcycles. They have been successful in the US, with a starting price of $29. These city bikes don't need a large battery mileage range, they can make batteries lighter and cheaper. “With an initial focus on the urban market, LiveWire will pioneer the electric motorcycle space and beyond''.

The LiveWire lineup should also be full-bodied with electric scooters and electric bicycles. The tendency is for the company to gain space in the sector and shoot ahead in the market. Honda, one of HD's main competitors, plans to launch three electric motorcycles on the market in 2024 alone.
