Honda Is Bringing Back the CRF 1100L Africa Twin to the Brazilian Market. The New 2024 Version Promises Huge Changes in Performance and Engine.

When we talk about the main motorcycle manufacturers acclaimed by Brazilians, it is impossible not to mention Honda, an undisputed market leader. We are excited to inform you that the renowned Japanese company has revived an iconic model, which is set to launch at an attractive price this October.

Honda Motorcycle Delivers 102 Horsepower

According to a note published in October by the portal Motonline, the Honda manufacturer introduced the new models CRF 1100 L Africa Twin and Africa Twin Adventure Sports. Furthermore, according to the source, the launch is scheduled for 2024.

Thus, the model now features significant visual, mechanical, and electronic changes. It’s worth noting that the Honda motorcycle continues with the inline two-cylinder engine and 1,084 cc. The motorcycle’s power also remains at 102 hp at 7,500 rpm in the European market. In Brazil, the vehicle delivers only 99.3 horsepower due to homologation issues.

According to the manufacturer’s official data, the Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin 2024 will have a suggested price of £13,199 in the United Kingdom. This amounts to approximately R$ 83.3 thousand in direct conversion.

As for the changes accompanying the model, simply put, the motorcycle saw its maximum torque increased from 10.5 kgfm to 11.2 kgfm. Additionally, the peak torque arrives earlier, at 5,500 rpm instead of the previous 6,250 rpm. In practice, it has more power at mid-range RPMs.

Other Changes Made by Honda

Honda also modified the compression ratio from 10.1:1 to 10.5:1, reworked the intake manifold, adjusted the valve timing, and of course, tweaked the engine control unit (ECU) settings to improve the overall performance of the new motorcycle. Thus, it is the same engine, but with some important adjustments. These engine changes are present throughout the entire 2024 CRF1100L Africa Twin lineup.

Previously, Honda offered the Showa Electronically Equipped Ride Adjustment (EERA) semi-active suspension only on the European CRF1100L Africa Twin. The 2024 Africa Twin also features tubeless Metzeler Karoo Street tires, a larger adjustable windscreen with five positions, and a redesigned front fairing.

For the upcoming year, the CRF 1100 L Africa Twin Adventure Sports receives more updates than the standard model. It features a new 19-inch front wheel, a wider front tire, and a suspension travel reduced by 20 mm. The Showa EERA semi-active suspension is standard equipment on the Adventure Sports.

It’s worth highlighting that the CRF1100L Africa Twin Sports receives the same new, larger, and adjustable windscreen that is now found on the new version. Along with this, there is a redesigned front fairing. For long hours of travel, the manufacturer has also added a new seat that uses 15 mm thicker polyurethane foam than the previous version for greater comfort and reduced fatigue.

The Honda CRF 1100L Africa Twin 2024, as previously mentioned, will have a suggested price of £13,199 in the United Kingdom. This is equivalent to approximately R$ 83.3 thousand in direct conversion.

Meanwhile, the CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports 2024 starts with a suggested price of £17,599, equivalent to R$ 111 thousand. Since Honda’s new motorcycle is also assembled in Brazil, there is no scheduled date for the arrival of the changes to its market yet.
