Honda Launches The New NX 400 In Japan, Offering An Even More Affordable Price Than The Sahara 300 In The Brazilian Market.
The NX series, or “New X-over,” introduced by Honda at the end of the decade, has evolved with several engine options over the years. At EICMA 2023, Honda revealed the NX500, and now, this week, has launched the NX 400 in the Japanese market. This new addition to the NX line replaces the 400X and positions itself as an alternative to the NX500. Notably, this model enters the market at a lower price than the Sahara 300, emphasizing Honda’s strategy to offer high-quality motorcycles at competitive prices.
New Honda Motorcycle Can Achieve Up To 28.1 Km/L
Equipped with a 399 cc twin-cylinder engine, delivering up to 46 horsepower at 9,000 RPM and 38 Nm of torque at 7,500 RPM, coupled with a 6-speed transmission with assist and slipper clutch.
Although it has a smaller engine, the new Honda NX 400 features the same design presented by the NX500 at EICMA 2023. According to the brand, the rival to the Sahara 300 achieves a fuel consumption of 28.1 km/l in the WLTC cycle.

Built with a diamond-type structure, the new Honda motorcycle features upside-down suspension at the front and a mono-shock (prolink) at the rear, has disc brakes on both axles, and comes with selectable torque control.
The model also includes full LED headlights, a 5-inch TFT instrument panel with Bluetooth connectivity and built-in navigation. Offered in two colors, sales of the Sahara 300 rival will start in April.
The suggested price is 891,000 yen, equivalent to R$ 29,490. Additionally, it has dimensions of 2,150 mm in length, 830 mm in width, 1,390 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 1,435 mm, with a seat height of 800 mm, 17 L fuel capacity, a 19-inch front tire, and a 17-inch rear tire.
New Honda Motorcycle Is Almost Identical To The NX 500
Still regarding design, the new NX 400 features mixed-use tires, a dual disc at the front in a flower shape, a fender that protects part of the fork, a fully black-painted twin-cylinder engine, dual exhaust outlets, and much more.
It is important to highlight that the new Honda motorcycle does not differ much from the 500cc version that will soon arrive in the Brazilian market, featuring the same headlight, fairing, and other details.
Notably, the NX 400 received a new traction control system, a 5-inch TFT panel with smartphone connectivity, becoming a more modern motorcycle with more embedded technology. According to Honda, it is still uncertain when this model will arrive here, however, indications suggest it is expected to arrive around mid-2025.

The new Honda Sahara 300 features a 293.5 cm³ single-cylinder engine, has a single overhead cam, with four valves, delivering Flex One technology, allowing the 13.8-liter tank to be filled with gasoline or ethanol. It is important to note that the Sahara 300 already meets the Promot 5, the latest emission regulations for motorcycles.
With the capacity to produce 25.2 horsepower at 7,500 RPM when fueled with ethanol, the engine of the new Sahara 300 provides good performance for hitting the road.
However, it is the low-end torque, which peaks at 2.74 kgfm at 5,750 RPM, reduced by the SOHC engine, that offers a more consistent throttle response exactly in the RPM range most often used.
