IFMG Prerequisites And Candidate Selection Process
Still due to the coronavirus pandemic, IFMG will continue to select candidates as all other IFs do, that is, through evaluation of school performance from elementary and/or high school for candidates competing for spots in technical courses.
When registering via the website, the candidate must correctly fill in all their personal information, providing RG, CPF, and school data, such as school history via photo (jpeg) or PDF file, in addition to the socioeconomic questionnaire for those requesting a fee waiver.
Modalities
In addition to technical and higher education courses, there is also the integrated technical course modality, designed for students who wish to take high school together with the technical course, completing the 3 (or more) years already with technical training associated with high school education.
The subsequent modality is aimed at those who have already completed high school and are looking for quick technical training to enter the job market. Unlike the integrated level – where the student takes the technical course extending over 3 years to conclude together with high school – the subsequent technical course lasts a maximum of 2 years, which may be extended if there are unforeseen circumstances, such as student failure, interruption, strikes, or demonstrations at the campus, among other factors.
For candidates applying to higher education courses, the 2022 Selection Process added some more ways to evaluate the student’s profile. Some of the courses offered by IFMG will also have the option for evaluation of school performance, in addition to the application of an online essay, via the IFMG portal.
Candidates may be classified through their scores from the National High School Examination, ENEM. Overall, IFMG will offer 21 courses in its curriculum, including 8 integrated technical courses, 2 subsequent technical courses, and 11 higher education courses.
