The IT Field Is Facing A Labor Shortage
In a country with over 13 million unemployed, can you imagine arriving at a job interview where recruiters convince you to accept the position? Although it may seem impossible, this is the reality in the IT field, where there is high demand and a lack of qualified labor. Companies have been “stealing” specialists from competitors, offering incentives like remote work, extremely high salaries, and qualification courses.
According to the Association of Information Technology and Communication Companies, by November last year, 196,500 professionals were hired in the field, basically double the total number of hires the previous year. The estimate is that by 2025 there will be a demand for 800,000 new employees, which represents 160,000 vacancies per year. On the other hand, on average, only 50,000 people graduate from IT courses annually.
