People dreaming of being part of the Navy should stay alert. This is because the applications for the highly awaited Public Competition for Admission to the Apprentice Sailors Schools in 2024 (CPAEAM 2024) will end this week.
The competition, which had its announcement released by the Personnel Selection Service of the Navy in January, is offering a total of 600 positions. Of these opportunities, 96 are designated for female candidates, while the remaining 504 are for male candidates.
Requirements to Work in the Navy
According to information in the announcement from the Navy, there are some mandatory requirements for those who wish to be approved for the position of Aspirant to Apprentice Sailors.

One of these requirements for those interested in joining the Apprentice Sailors Schools is to have completed or at least be in the process of completing high school.
Those approved will receive a scholarship in the total amount of R$ 1,303.90 during the Sailors Training Course for Active Duty (C-FMN).
Additionally, once these individuals become members of the Navy, they will have access to additional benefits such as meals, uniforms, and medical-dental, psychological, social, and religious assistance.
Path in the Navy is Divided into Stages
According to the announcement, the training for aspiring sailors will be divided into stages. The first will be the hierarchical level of Grumete (GR), with technical specializations in Electronics, Support, and Mechanics.
During this phase, the total gross value of the benefit will be R$ 1,398.30. After completion, the individual will be promoted to the rank of Sailor (MN). Here, the remuneration is higher: R$ 2,294.50. At this stage of the process, the aspiring sailor will have the opportunity to serve aboard ships or Military Organizations (OM) throughout the national territory.
The announcement published by the Navy covers the areas of support, electronics, and mechanics. These courses are offered at Apprentice Sailors Schools located in four strategic cities, namely:
- Apprentice Sailors School of Ceará (EAMCE), in Fortaleza;
- Apprentice Sailors School of Pernambuco (EAMPE), in Olinda;
- Apprentice Sailors School of Espírito Santo (EAMES), in Vila Velha;
- Apprentice Sailors School of Santa Catarina (EAMSC), in Florianópolis.
