The entrance examination of the Federal Institute offers a degree in EAD Biology focused on training qualified educators for teaching at the elementary and high school levels. Spots for EAD undergraduate courses are distributed among the UAB hubs in Cajueiro, Maragogi, Maceió (Center), Palmeira dos Índios, Piranhas, Penedo, Santana do Ipanema, and São José da Laje.
Those interested in participating in the selection process must have completed high school or an equivalent by the date of enrollment. The notice provides for the distribution of spots in two modalities: broad competition with 30% of the spots and reserved spots for affirmative actions, with 70% of the spots for:
- Quilombolas;
- Public school teachers;
- Graduates from public schools;
- People with disabilities;
- Black, brown, and indigenous people.

Registrations and Selection Process for EAD Undergraduate Courses
Registrations can be made until May 18, 2025, and must be done exclusively through the Federal Institute’s website. The entrance examination will be conducted in two phases. The first will be the online phase with classification based on the average of the Portuguese language and mathematics curriculum components from the first and second years of high school. Then, the in-person phase will occur with a writing test for candidates who are classified in the first phase.
It is worth noting that, although the didactic-pedagogical action primarily takes place through information and communication technology, the EAD Biology course includes in-person academic activities such as tutoring, internships, assessments, professional practices, laboratory activities in biology, and TCC defense. These practical activities are essential for the complete training of the educator. The schedule for the selection is distributed as follows:
- Registrations: until 05/18/2025;
- Preliminary result of the 1st phase: 05/19/2025;
- Appeals from the 1st phase: 05/20/2025;
- Final result of the 1st phase: 05/21/2025;
- Writing test (2nd phase): 05/25/2025 (Sunday);
- Preliminary result: 05/27/2025;
- Final result: after hetero-identification procedures.
