Federal Institute of Alagoas (IFAL) Has an Unmissable Opportunity for Those Looking for EAD Undergraduate Courses in 2025. Don’t Waste Time and Enroll in the EAD Biology Course!
The Federal Institute of Alagoas (IFAL) announced on April 28 the opening of registrations for a new selection process aimed at EAD undergraduate courses, with a start date scheduled for the second semester of 2025. The selection includes hundreds of spots, with emphasis on the EAD Biology course, offered for free and with the recognized quality of the federal education network.
The initiative represents an excellent opportunity for those wishing to enter higher education through a public, free institution with a strong academic commitment. With the distance learning modality (EAD), IFAL seeks to expand access to higher education, especially for students living in areas far from large urban centers or who need greater schedule flexibility.
Registrations for the selection process are conducted exclusively online, within the deadline established in the notice, and candidates will be evaluated based on specific criteria, according to the admission policy defined by the institution. The initiative reinforces IFAL’s commitment to the democratization of higher education and the training of qualified professionals in different regions of the state.

Find Out Who Can Compete for IFAL Courses
The entrance examination of the Federal Institute offers a degree in EAD Biology focused on training qualified educators for teaching at the elementary and high school levels. Spots for EAD undergraduate courses are distributed among the UAB hubs in Cajueiro, Maragogi, Maceió (Center), Palmeira dos Índios, Piranhas, Penedo, Santana do Ipanema, and São José da Laje.
Those interested in participating in the selection process must have completed high school or an equivalent by the date of enrollment. The notice provides for the distribution of spots in two modalities: broad competition with 30% of the spots and reserved spots for affirmative actions, with 70% of the spots for:
- Quilombolas;
- Public school teachers;
- Graduates from public schools;
- People with disabilities;
- Black, brown, and indigenous people.
Regarding the EAD Biology course, it is important to mention that it aims to identify problems that impact the teaching-learning process in biology and sciences, proposing solutions and understanding the teaching practice in both areas as a dynamic process and a space for creation, reflection, and knowledge creation.
Additionally, it also aims to understand Natural and Health Sciences as human constructions generated within a cultural, social, and economic context. It is also committed to issues related to environmental preservation and improving the quality of life in the population.
Registrations and Selection Process for EAD Undergraduate Courses
Registrations can be made until May 18, 2025, and must be done exclusively through the Federal Institute’s website. The entrance examination will be conducted in two phases. The first will be the online phase with classification based on the average of the Portuguese language and mathematics curriculum components from the first and second years of high school. Then, the in-person phase will occur with a writing test for candidates who are classified in the first phase.
It is worth noting that, although the didactic-pedagogical action primarily takes place through information and communication technology, the EAD Biology course includes in-person academic activities such as tutoring, internships, assessments, professional practices, laboratory activities in biology, and TCC defense. These practical activities are essential for the complete training of the educator. The schedule for the selection is distributed as follows:
- Registrations: until 05/18/2025;
- Preliminary result of the 1st phase: 05/19/2025;
- Appeals from the 1st phase: 05/20/2025;
- Final result of the 1st phase: 05/21/2025;
- Writing test (2nd phase): 05/25/2025 (Sunday);
- Preliminary result: 05/27/2025;
- Final result: after hetero-identification procedures.
Discover the Advantages of Taking an EAD Course
For those who have doubts about the EAD undergraduate courses at IFAL, it is important to mention that there are several advantages to this type of education.
Classes can be watched according to the student’s availability, allowing them to balance their studies with work and other activities depending on the course. All that is needed is an internet connection to follow the training, eliminating the need to travel to the educational institution.
Distance learning also expands training possibilities, including for those living in regions where there are not many face-to-face institutions. With this modality, the student develops self-management and organization skills to keep up with the course content and deadlines.
Furthermore, as long as the course is recognized by MEC, the EAD diploma has the same value as the in-person one. Assessments during the training may occur online or in-person, depending on the institution’s directives and the course. Students can also ask questions to teachers and other students through forums, chats, and video conferences.
