The Federal Institute of Southeast Minas Gerais (IF Sudeste MG), in partnership with the Open University of Brazil Program (UAB), has launched Public Notice No. 22/2024 for the offer of a free lato sensu postgraduate course in technologies applied to education, in the online (EAD) modality.
With 75 available spots, the course is an excellent opportunity for continued education for professionals looking to deepen their knowledge on the use of technologies in the educational context.
Course Objective and Workload
The free online postgraduate course aims to primarily qualify teachers and education professionals for the critical and practical use of digital technologies in teaching. Over 12 months, participants will receive in-depth training through distance activities, totaling 360 hours of workload. Activities include interactive classes, discussion forums, seminars, and practical assessments.

The specialization aims to stimulate critical reflection on the use of technologies, preparing students to implement them in their pedagogical practices and in developing new teaching methods.
Available Spots and Locations
The selection process for the free online (EAD) postgraduate course offers 75 spots, distributed among five teaching hubs, divided between general competition and affirmative actions:
- Águas Formosas: 30 spots (9 general competition, 6 affirmative actions, and 15 for basic education teachers).
- Barão de Cocais: 30 spots (9 general competition, 6 affirmative actions, and 15 for basic education teachers).
- Ipatinga: 30 spots (9 general competition, 6 affirmative actions, and 15 for basic education teachers).
- Belo Horizonte: 30 spots (9 general competition, 6 affirmative actions, and 15 for basic education teachers).
- Monte Sião: 30 spots (9 general competition, 6 affirmative actions, and 15 for basic education teachers).
The spots are intended for graduates in any field of knowledge, including bachelor’s degrees, undergraduate degrees, and technological courses.
Selection Process
The selection for the free course will be conducted through a public electronic lottery, which will be broadcast live on the official YouTube channel of the Federal Institute-IF Sudeste MG. There are also spots reserved for affirmative actions, intended for Black candidates (African descent and mixed-race), indigenous people, quilombola communities, and persons with disabilities (PWD). Basic education teachers also have a specific reserve of spots.
Candidates who compete for the quotas must prove the condition declared at the time of enrollment, through specific documentation, such as medical reports for PWD or self-declaration for indigenous, quilombola, and Black individuals.
Registration Requirements
To participate in the selection process, interested individuals must hold an undergraduate degree recognized by the Ministry of Education (MEC). During the registration process, it is necessary to provide documents such as CPF, a photo identification document, and a valid email address (preferably from Gmail). The candidate must also have access to a computer and the internet to attend classes and carry out distance activities.

- Publication of the Preliminary Registration List: 01/13/2025
- Period for Appeals Against Registrations: 01/14/2025 to 01/15/2025
- Public Lottery: 01/24/2025

- Period for Appeals Against the Lottery: 01/28/2025 to 01/29/2025
- Final Classification: 01/31/2025
