The Federal Institute of Southeast Minas Gerais (IF Sudeste MG), in partnership with the Open University of Brazil Program (UAB), launched Notice No. 22/2024 to offer the free lato sensu postgraduate course in technologies applied to education , in online mode (EAD).
With 75 places available, the course is an excellent opportunity for continuing education for professionals who wish to deepen their knowledge about the use of technologies in the educational context.
Course objective and workload
The main objective of this free online postgraduate course is to qualify teachers and education professionals for the critical and practical use of digital technologies in teaching. Over the course of 12 months, participants will receive in-depth training through distance learning activities, totaling 360 hours of workload. Activities include interactive classes, discussion forums, seminars and practical assessments.

The specialization aims to stimulate critical reflection on the use of technologies, preparing students to implement them in their pedagogical practices and in the development of new teaching methods.
Available vacancies and locations
The selection process for the free online postgraduate course (EAD) offers 75 places, distributed among five teaching centers, divided between open competition and affirmative actions:
- Águas Formosas: 30 vacancies (9 open competition, 6 affirmative action and 15 for basic education teachers).
- Barão de Cocais: 30 vacancies (9 open competition, 6 affirmative action and 15 for basic education teachers).
- Ipatinga: 30 vacancies (9 open competition, 6 affirmative action and 15 for basic education teachers).
- Belo Horizonte: 30 vacancies (9 open competition, 6 affirmative action and 15 for basic education teachers).
- Monte Sião: 30 vacancies (9 open competition, 6 affirmative action and 15 for basic education teachers).
The vacancies are intended for graduates in any area of knowledge, including undergraduate, bachelor's and technological courses.
Selection process
The selection for the free course will be carried out through a public electronic draw, which will be broadcast live on the official YouTube channel of the Instituto Federal-IF Sudeste MG. There are also vacancies reserved for affirmative actions, intended for black candidates (black and brown), indigenous people, quilombolas and people with disabilities (PCD). Basic education teachers also have a specific reserve of vacancies.
Candidates competing for quotas must prove the condition declared at the time of enrollment, through specific documentation, such as a medical report for PCD or self-declaration for indigenous, quilombola and black people.
Application requirements
To participate in the selection process, interested parties must have an undergraduate degree recognized by the MEC. During the application process, it is necessary to provide documents such as CPF, photo ID and a valid email address (preferably Gmail). The candidate must also have access to a computer and internet to attend classes and carry out activities remotely.
