More than 630 vacancies in free holiday courses, which will be held in the first month of 2022 in Salvador, are being offered by the João Carlos Paes Mendonça Institute of Social Commitment (IJCPM). In total, there are 9 free courses available. The workshops and classes are aimed at young people aged 16 and up, graduates or enrolled in public schools located in the neighborhoods of São Cristóvão, Saramandaia, Boca do Rio, Pernambués, Jardim das Margaridas, and Cassange, in the municipalities of Salvador and Lauro de Freitas, in the metropolitan region.

Those interested in registering to compete for vacancies in the free courses must access a digital form provided by the Salvador institution. In the form, select the desired course and fill in details such as full name, date of birth, age, gender, complete address, neighborhood, education level, and phone number.

Search for Free Courses Increases Amid the Pandemic

The demand for graduate courses focused on education, in EAD (Distance Learning), increased by 60% this year. The municipality of São José dos Campos leads the ranking of cities with the highest demand among professionals seeking further qualifications, and even a second degree, during the pandemic caused by Covid-19.

The situation in São José dos Campos is featured in the Survey of Undergraduate and Graduate Courses conducted by the Semesp Institute. Nationwide, the number of students in specialization courses exceeded 1.3 million this year, with a growth of 4.8%, considering the EAD modality, whose tuition fees can be four times lower compared to in-person courses.

According to the survey, the majority of graduate course offerings are concentrated in the private network, with 90% and 173,000 active courses, with 64% in-person and 86% concentrated in the fields of education, social sciences, business and law, health and social welfare.

The IJCPM conducts its activities with young people aged 16 to 24 years, primarily, who live near the commercial enterprises of the JPCM Group. The aim of the institution is to enhance the employability potential of young people, expanding their general knowledge, encouraging reading, and providing behavioral guidance, work that aims to assist in the formation of more aware citizens connected to the demands.

The João Carlos Paes Mendonça Institute of Social Commitment (IJCPM) has units in Recife, Salvador, Aracaju, Sergipe, and in Fortaleza, Ceará.

In addition, it has already served about 47,000 young people since it was established in 2007, with initiatives such as raising educational levels, vacancies in free holiday courses, pre-college, young apprentice, professional qualification, and entrepreneurial training.
