Want a Degree Without Leaving Home? UFPel Offers 600 Spots in Completely Free EaD Licensure Courses! Mathematics and Spanish Language and Literature Starting in March 2025. Registrations Open Until February! Don’t Miss the Chance to Study at One of the Most Prestigious Universities in Brazil Without Leaving Home!

Imagine getting the degree of your dreams without having to leave home. This is not fiction! It’s a real chance to join the Federal University of Pelotas (UFPel) and start your academic future with a highly recognized diploma.

UFPel has just launched a notice packed with opportunities for those seeking a quality higher education. But before rushing to secure your spot, it’s worth understanding all the details of this unique opportunity and what the institution is offering!

Unmissable Opportunity for 600 Students!

UFPel has opened 600 spots for Licensure in Mathematics and Licensure in Spanish Language and Literature in the Distance Education (EaD) modality.

The new aspect is that, despite being an EaD format, the course will include mandatory in-person activities at support centers distributed throughout the state of Rio Grande do Sul.

Classes will begin on March 31, 2025, and can transform the lives of those who wish to enter higher education for free, backed by a renowned public university.

The two courses have a diverse workload, with 300 spots available for each.

That means there are 600 opportunities for those who dream of studying at a public university but need flexibility to balance studies with work or other activities.

Distance Education Modality with the Support You Need!

With the partnership between UFPel, the Open University of Brazil Program (UAB), and the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), the course offers a high-quality education, for both EaD and in-person students.

The Licensure diploma will be recognized by the Ministry of Education (MEC), with no distinction between the teaching formats.

Thus, students graduating from this modality are guaranteed a valid diploma, just like that of in-person courses.

How to Register for the Spots?

If you are interested and wondering how to secure your registration, the answer is simple: the process begins in February 2025.

Registrations will be open from February 3 to 22, and you will be able to register online directly on the UFPel website.

Registrations are free and can be made from anywhere as long as you have internet access.

Registration Criteria

The spots are intended for those who have completed or are about to complete high school by March 2025 and reside in the coverage area of the support centers.

Furthermore, anyone wishing to participate in the selection process must provide certain documents, such as ID, CPF, and self-declaration of ethnicity if applying for reserved spots.

The registration is free, and the selection of candidates will be made through a writing test.

This essay, with an autobiographical theme, will address educational and professional experiences, as well as expectations for the course.

The Writing Test: Get Ready!

The written test carries significant weight in the selection process.

It will be conducted in person, and candidates will need to write an autobiography detailing their educational background, professional or community experiences, and their expectations regarding the course.

The essay will be evaluated by a judging panel, with scores ranging from 0 to 10, requiring a minimum score of 6 to pass.

In the case of a tie, the tie-breaker will be age: the older candidate will have priority.

Support Centers and Spots for Each City

The support centers are distributed across the cities of Rio Grande do Sul, and the number of spots varies by location. Here are some of the main cities offering spots:

  • Canguçu: 30 spots for Mathematics
  • Esteio: 30 spots for Mathematics
  • Gravataí: 30 spots for Mathematics

  • Cachoeira do Sul: 25 spots for Literature – Spanish
  • Piratiní: 25 spots for Literature – Spanish

And much more, with a total of 600 spots available for the EaD modality, spread across various cities in the state.

Schedule of Important Dates

For those who want to plan ahead, the main dates of the schedule are:

  • Registrations: February 3 to 22, 2025
  • Registration Approval: February 25, 2025
  • Preliminary Publication of Grades: March 20, 2025

  • Enrollment: March 26 to 28, 2025

The Chance to Transform Your Academic Life

UFPel thus offers a unique opportunity for those seeking a free, flexible, and high-quality higher education, with MEC certification.

The Distance Education modality could be the key for those who want to study without compromising their work routine or other responsibilities, while still having access to in-person classes that enrich their education.
