Partnership Between Volkswagen and JAC Motors
The electric car that promises to be the cheapest in Brazil will be yet another project produced by the union of Volkswagen with JAC Motors. After the E-JS4, which has a design that also came from the joint venture Sihao, the E-JSI was developed by SOL.
The joint venture between Volkswagen and JAC Motors is a China-based brand focused primarily on the construction of electric cars. It is worth noting that VW acquired 50% of the owner of the JAC brand, Jianghuai Automobile Group Holdings.

JAC e-JS1 May Replace the iEV20
It is still uncertain whether the Volkswagen/JAC Motors electric car will replace the iEV20 or if both will share the market. According to the Chinese automaker, the vehicle will have a price of approximately R$ 154,990, being R$ 5 thousand cheaper than its “older sibling”.
In addition to being the cheapest model from JAC Motors/Volkswagen, the electric car may be a low-cost option in the market. Currently in the country, it, the iEV40 SUV, and the iEV20 are the only electric vehicles priced below R$ 200 thousand.
61 Horsepower
The new electric car from the companies has some differences from other models, such as a rear that has received a new design, while the front will still feature a bar that separates the headlights just like the E-JS4.
The vehicle has a length of 3,650 mm, a width of 1,670 mm, and a height of 1,540 mm. The interior of the E-JS1 gives a more technological feel compared to the iEV20.
Its multimedia center is the main highlight in the center of the dashboard. The digital instrument panel is located below the steering wheel. According to the brand, the electric car is equipped with a motor that delivers 61 horsepower, with a torque of 15.3 kgfm. This allows the vehicle to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 13 seconds. Its battery has a capacity of 30.2 kWh, giving the car a range of 260 km in the WLTP cycle and 302 km in the NEDC cycle.
