Prates reinforced Petrobras’ commitment to the preservation of the forest, highlighting the main projects that are part of the state-owned company’s portfolio currently. He also warned about the need to gather efforts from the energy industry and governments for environmental preservation.
Petrobras’ activities in Urucu, in the Amazon, were discussed with the Colombian Minister of Mines and Energy. The president of the state-owned company emphasized this as one of the main environmental preservation projects of the company in the region.

Also at the conference in Houston this week, Petrobras’ Director of Exploration and Production, Fernando Borges, commented that the company is very interested in exploring the potential of the block.
Through the activities of well Uchuva-1, drilled in deep waters, 32 km offshore and 76 km from the city of Santa Marta, indications of large reserves in the Colombian block were found in 2022.
