Argentinians Seeking Summer: Enjoying Vacation in Brazil and Spending Less Than If They Stayed in Their Own Country!
While the dollars reach historic highs, the North American currency hit an impressive R$6.27 this Wednesday (18), international travel is becoming less and less accessible for brazilians.
However, an economic turnaround is favoring Argentinian tourists, who are excited to explore Brazil and enjoy the summer in tropical lands, spending significantly less than if they stayed in their own country, according to the site infomoney.
Surprising Costs: Rio de Janeiro versus Mar del Plata
A study revealed by the consulting firm Ecosur, published by La Nacion, revealed surprising information.
-
New credit for Uber, 99, and taxi drivers can pave the way for car ownership, reduce the burden of car rental costs in their budget, and change the math for those who make a living from traffic every day.
-
Canadians are disappearing from the United States: The US feels the absence of Canada financially, while hotels, casinos, and tourist destinations try to attract visitors back with promotions.
-
WEG from Jaraguá do Sul was awarded in New York for strengthening relations between Brazil and the United States, employs over 2,250 people in American territory, operates 10 factories and 9 distribution centers in the country, and boosts the energy infrastructure of the U.S. with locally manufactured products and solutions.

Unclaimed funds will enter a new phase this Tuesday: banks must send funds to the government, while R$ 10.5 billion in idle funds could help finance Desenrola 2.0 and ensure debt renegotiation within the financial system.
The cost for a family of four to spend two weeks in Rio de Janeiro is almost half the amount needed to enjoy a vacation in Mar del Plata.
According to the research, while staying in Mar del Plata can cost US$ 6,671, the same experience in Rio de Janeiro is just US$ 3,194. And if the idea is to enjoy the beauty of Cancún, the cost will be US$ 4,364, which is 35% cheaper!
Comparison with Other Destinations
On the other hand, destinations like Punta del Este and Miami do not share the same fortune.
The cost in Punta del Este reaches US$ 7,225, while expenses in Miami can astronomically reach US$ 10,475.
This scenario is due to the depreciation of the real, which has made traveling to Brazil easier for Argentinians, as emphasized by economist Juan Pablo Ronderos from the consulting firm MAP Latam, in a conversation with Clarín.
Advantages for Argentinian Tourists
The economist emphasized: “Looking to next summer, prices in dollars for essential vacation items — such as hotels, tours, dining, and entertainment — will be more affordable in Brazil than in the domestic market of Argentina.”
This reality is excellent news for our Argentinian neighbors but presents a challenge for Brazilians, who now face higher costs when traveling to the neighboring country.
Brazilian Tourism Sector on the Rise
The outlook is positive for the national tourism sector, which is reaping the benefits of this new dynamic.
By September 2024, Brazilian tourism registered a revenue of R$ 16.9 billion, representing an increase of 4.5% compared to the same period the previous year.
This is the best result since the beginning of the historical series from IBGE, in 2011.
In total, national tourism revenues reached around R$ 148.3 billion from January to September 2024, setting a record in the last 13 years, according to data from FecomercioSP.
Expectations for the High Season
With the proximity of the year-end festivities and school holidays, the summer high season in Brazil promises a significant increase in travel, attracting tourists to boost the entire sector, as indicated by the Ministry of Tourism.
Between November 2024 and February 2025, activities related to Brazilian tourism may generate up to R$ 157.74 billion, representing the highest revenue in the last ten years, according to the Ministry of Tourism, based on information from the National Confederation of Commerce of Goods, Services and Tourism (CNC).
With this new reality, the game has changed: Brazil is becoming an irresistible destination, and Argentinian tourists are ready to enjoy every moment of this unforgettable summer.
