Imported Hybrid SUV From South Korea Arrives in Brazilian Market in Two Versions, With 1.6 Engine Combined With Electric Propulsion, Consumption Above 27 km/l, and Discounts of Up to R$ 20,000
Kia has officially announced the start of sales for the Niro 2026 in Brazil. The hybrid SUV, imported from South Korea, arrives without visual or equipment changes compared to the previous lineup, but with reduced prices in both available versions.
The brand revealed that the entry-level Niro EX drops from R$ 214,990 to R$ 194,990, while the SX Prestige version falls from R$ 239,990 to R$ 219,990. In both cases, the discount is R$ 20,000.
Hybrid Engine
The highlight of the Kia Niro 2026 continues to be its full hybrid (HEV) setup. The system combines a 1.6 Kappa 16-valve combustion engine, with direct gasoline injection, with an electric motor powered by a 240V lithium-ion polymer battery. The combined power reaches 141 hp at 5,700 rpm, and the maximum torque is 27 kgfm at 4,000 rpm. The transmission is a six-speed dual-clutch automated system.

Equipment and Technology
The Niro EX 2026 comes with a robust list of standard equipment, including dual-zone automatic digital air conditioning, synthetic upholstery seats with electric adjustments for the driver, 18-inch alloy wheels with diamond finish, a digital dashboard, a 10.25-inch multimedia system, and a safety package with lane centering assist, emergency braking, and detection of vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists.
In the SX Prestige configuration, the SUV adds features such as an electric tailgate with programmable opening, blind spot collision avoidance assist, rear cross traffic alert, front collision avoidance with intersection detection, and a C-column painted in a contrasting color to the body.
Consumption and Dimensions
According to Inmetro, the Niro 2026 records a fuel consumption of 15.9 km/l on the highway and 18.3 km/l in the city. In tests conducted by Kia itself, the numbers reach 24.6 km/l and 27.2 km/l, respectively. The model measures 4.42 meters in length, 1.83 m in width, and 1.55 m in height, with a wheelbase of 2.72 m. The trunk has a capacity of 425 liters, which can reach 1,419 liters with the rear seats folded down.
