Kia Tasman 2025: Reasons why the new 1.200 kg mid-size pickup truck is a revolution in Brazil with production in Uruguay
The 2025 Kia Tasman has a good chance of arriving in Brazil, with production scheduled for Uruguay. However, the launch depends on homologation and economic viability, including price and emissions.

With a 2.2 hp 207 turbodiesel engine, a load capacity of up to 1.195 kg and an innovative design, the Kia Tasman 2025 arrives to challenge competitors and promises to dominate the Brazilian market.

Kia is about to bring a big new product to the Brazilian market: the Kia Tasman 2025 midsize pickup truck. José Luiz Gandini, president of Kia Brazil, confirmed in an interview with the A Roda channel that the automaker is studying the feasibility of production in Uruguay and subsequent sales in Brazil. But what makes this pickup so special? In addition to its bold design, it promises to deliver power, technology and robustness to take on the midsize pickup segment with great style.

Production in Uruguay: A strategic step for Brazil

To make sales in Brazil viable, Kia plans to assemble the Tasman at the Nordex factory in Uruguay. This complex is already known for assembling models from brands such as Fiat, Peugeot, Citröen and Ford, in addition to Kia’s own Bongo 4×4. This strategy aims not only to reduce costs, but also to meet the requirements of nationalization and sustainability, crucial factors for a successful launch in Brazil.

Innovative and distinctive design of the Kia Tasman 2025

Production of the Kia Tasman 2025 is planned to take place at the Nordex complex in Uruguay, where other Kia models and those of brands such as Fiat and Peugeot are already assembled. This strategy facilitates nationalization and reduces costs for the Brazilian market.

If looks were a competition, the Tasman would certainly be on the podium. The bold front end, with small headlights and a narrow, horizontal grille, gives the pickup a futuristic and aggressive look. The robust bumper reinforces the feeling of adventure and resistance.

At the rear, the highlight is the name “KIA” in low relief on the tailgate. It’s a simple detail, but it exudes personality. The rectangular fenders are a curious choice, breaking away from the norm and reinforcing Tasman’s unique appeal.

Turbodiesel engine and mechanical versatility

At the heart of the Tasman destined for Brazil is the 2.2 turbodiesel engine, capable of delivering 207 hp and 44,93 kgfm of torque. With this power, the pickup goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 10,4 seconds, ensuring solid performance both in the city and on more challenging terrain.

For other markets, there is also the option of a 2.5 gasoline engine with 280 hp. Although faster, its focus seems to be less off-road and more on asphalt. The mechanical flexibility, with manual and automatic transmissions, as well as 4x2 and 4x4 options, is a great attraction for different consumer profiles.

Technological interior and advanced functionality

Inside, the Tasman impresses with cutting-edge technology. Inspired by the EV5 electric SUV, the interior features three integrated screens: two 12,3-inch screens for the instrument panel and multimedia center, as well as an additional 5-inch screen dedicated to controlling the air conditioning.

The load capacity is also a differential, with figures reaching almost 1.200 kg and a 1.421-liter cargo bed. Details such as the 33-liter storage compartment under the rear seat show that Kia thought about practicality for everyday use.

Off-road capability and unique features

When it comes to tackling tough terrain, the 2025 Kia Tasman doesn't disappoint. Its double-wishbone front suspension and rigid rear axle with leaf springs ensure stability on any terrain. The drive modes – desert, mud, snow and rock – allow the pickup to easily adapt to different conditions.

To top it off, the Tasman is equipped with waterproof connectors, allowing it to cross flooded areas up to 80 cm deep. This is the pickup truck for those looking for adventure without sacrificing safety.

When will the Kia Tasman 2025 arrive in Brazil?

There is still no set date for the launch of the Kia Tasman in Brazil, but the arrival of a unit for energy homologation is a positive sign. Price and emissions will be decisive factors in concluding its sale in the country.

With so many attributes, the Kia Tasman 2025 is ready to enter the competitive mid-size pickup truck segment. If production in Uruguay is confirmed, Brazil could soon receive one of the most anticipated pickup trucks in recent years.

Let's wait and see if it can withstand the conditions of Brazilian roads and rural areas.

They talk about everything except fuel economy. A factor for a future purchase, at least.
