New Lenovo Mini PC Hits the Market Promising Vast Versatility and Usage Possibilities for Various Tasks. The Device is Similar in Size to an iPhone.
Lenovo recently launched the Chromebox Micro, a mini PC so small that its dimensions are similar to those of an iPhone from Apple. To give you an idea, the Lenovo mini PC measures 162x79mm and is 20mm thick, which is really surprising. Although it is aimed at the kiosk market, anyone can purchase one, and it is small enough to fit on the back of a monitor.
What Technologies Come Equipped with the Lenovo Mini PC?
In terms of specifications, the Lenovo Chromebox Micro runs the ChromeOS operating system and uses the Intel Celeron N4500 processor (Jasper Lake line, with two cores and integrated UHD graphics). The mini PC has 8GB of RAM and 32GB of eMMC storage.
According to the manufacturer, its Chromebox Micro also has 802.11ax Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity, but it also features an Ethernet port for wired network connection. The Lenovo mini PC also has two USB ports, one USB Type-C port, one headset and headphone jack, and an HDMI connection for video.

The first Chromebox Micro Form Factor from Lenovo is a device built for 24/7 digital display deployment in challenging conditions – such as high-traffic installations. It’s worth noting that Lenovo announced inFLEX displays in collaboration with Instorescreen that were specifically developed for use with the Chromebox Micro, thereby providing a cavity in the back to accommodate the mini PC.
Where to Find the Lenovo Mini PC for Purchase?
According to the company itself, the mini PC has no ventilation fans, nor any openings, and thus it is dust-proof and supports dual display in 4K resolution. Exactly for this reason, one of the most notable features of the device is its versatility.
As mentioned, it was primarily developed for use in kiosks and digital signage, but the device can also be adapted for a variety of other purposes. However, it is important to mention that its limited eMMC storage may be a constraint for certain data-intensive applications.
Currently, the new Chromebox Micro can be purchased at Walmart, and its suggested retail price is US$ 361, which in direct conversion would amount to around R$ 1,900. Therefore, it is a somewhat high price, considering that there are other similar solutions on the market at more affordable prices, especially for personal use. So far, Lenovo is selling the Chromebox Micro exclusively in the U.S. market, via Walmart, with immediate stock availability.
Other Retailers Sell the Model at More Affordable Prices
CDW, another retailer in the market, is already offering the device at a much lower price, such as US$ 250, but it is out of stock and, although it is still possible to order the product, there is no specific date for when it will return to stock.
