The New Contract for Handling Chemical Products Between Log-In and Argentina Integrates Two Container Ships and the Intermodal Terminal of Itajaí
Log-In Logística Intermodal, a 100% Brazilian logistics solutions company, port handling, and navigation by cabotage and long-distance, has been betting on a new business segment: customized solutions and handling of chemical products in Argentina. The service, also known as 3PL – when part of the logistics chain is outsourced to a logistics operator, is gaining space in Log-In’s portfolio since the end of last year.

Contract Between Argentina and Log-In for Handling Chemical Products
The most recent contract signed was for the handling of chemical products in an operation designed exclusively for the client, departing from Argentina towards Brazil, making Log-In the sole operator of the entire logistics chain.
The work was conducted in partnership with Log-In’s regional office in Buenos Aires and integrates two assets of the company: container ships and the intermodal terminal of Itajaí, located in Santa Catarina.

The operation anticipates regular departures from the Argentinian port of TecPlata, in Buenos Aires, heading to the port of Itajaí (SC). From there, the cargo is transferred to Log-In’s intermodal terminal in Itajaí, stored, and finally delivered by truck to the client’s door in the South and Southeast regions. Another part of the cargo proceeds by cabotage to the Northeast.
Log-In Will Position Itself Even More in the Logistics Solutions Market
According to Log-In’s Terminal Director, Ilson Hulle, the handling of chemical products is a growing segment, and the team is working hard to transform Log-In into a company that sells logistics solutions.
“With this new partnership in Argentina, we want clients to see us not just as a port terminal or a navigation company, but as a company that sells logistics. Log-In has operational capacity, expertise, and a prepared team to develop dedicated logistics involving its main terminal and shipping businesses,” he stated.
The coordinator of New Projects, Marhmed Hashemj, who leads this business front, believes that the service will position Log-In in the logistics solutions market, as well as boost the company’s operations using the synergy of its businesses. “We aim to develop a customized and technological product, where we can manage the entire logistics chain. And this adds high value for clients,” he pointed out.
This type of service is not new for Log-In. Since 2007, the company has been conducting dedicated operations for Dow Chemical at the intermodal terminals of Itajaí (SC) and Guarujá (SP), combined with coastal navigation. The idea is to replicate these logistical models to bring even more value generation and competitiveness to the business.
