Chinese Brand GWM Officially Launches in Brazil and the First Imported Car Will Be the Haval 6
The Chinese brand Great Wall Motors (GWM) announced its official launch in Brazil this Wednesday (23), after announcing the construction of 50 dealerships in the country for 2023. Furthermore, the automaker had already revealed that its first car sold in the Brazilian market will be the Haval H6, a hybrid model that achieves up to 28.7 km/l. Although the new Haval is the most talked-about car to debut in Brazil, the brand assured that by 2025 it will have launched 10 different vehicles here.
What Vehicle Lines Does GWM Plan to Sell in Brazil?
In addition to Haval with urban SUVs, GWM will also sell the Poer line with its pickups, and Tank, with luxury off-road SUVs in the country. Initially, the new Haval H6 will be imported from China, while the brand’s first national model will be a hybrid flex pickup from the Poer line. Its production will take place in Iracemápolis (SP) and it is expected to launch in 2024.
Technical Details About the Haval H6 Vehicle Announced by GWM
Although it did not reveal many technical details of the Haval H6, Great Wall Motors announced that the car will be sold here in its plug-in hybrid version (with charging on the electrical grid) and will have up to 393 hp and a 100% electric range of up to 170 km. The hybrid system of the SUV consists of a 1.5 turbo engine and two electric motors – one on each axle, with all-wheel drive.

The vehicle features the brand’s DHT technology, which prioritizes electric motors for traction, reserving the use of the combustion engine for more demanding situations. According to GWM, the SUV’s average consumption will be 28.7 km/l in the city and 25.3 km/l on the highway. The price of the Haval H6 has not yet been disclosed, but the automaker indicates that it will be close to the price of the top-of-the-line versions of Jeep Compass, Toyota Corolla Cross, and Volkswagen Taos, which makes the estimated value higher than 200 thousand.
