Japanese manufacturer presents a comprehensive update package for its off-road CRF family in the 2027 lineup, with a complete overhaul of the engine, chassis, and electronics of the 450cc models, along with the debut of the exclusive HRC Works Edition as the new absolute leader of the competition range.
Honda announced a comprehensive update for its off-road motorcycle family CRF in the 2027 lineup, with changes to the CRF450R and CRF450RX models, along with the debut of the brand new CRF450 HRC-WE, a version that now occupies the top of the brand’s global range.
The new lineup initially arrives in the European market and was developed under the concept “Kiwami“, a Japanese term that can be translated as “maximum” or “ultimate”, with a central focus on significantly reducing the total weight and dramatically increasing the performance of the motorcycles.
In addition to the mechanical changes in the 450cc models, the CRF250R and CRF250RX versions received visual updates to maintain the unified graphic identity of the lineup, preserving the aesthetic coherence among all models of the Japanese manufacturer’s off-road family.

The new engine of the CRF450R delivers 10% more power and 4% more torque compared to the previous generation, the result of a comprehensive redesign that included a larger bore cylinder, new piston, new crankshaft, and increased compression ratio.
Engine and chassis completely redesigned for the 2027 lineup

The titanium intake valves have been enlarged and are now accompanied by new exhaust valves made from the same material, while the UNICAM system has been revised to improve gas flow and maximize the efficiency of the powertrain.
The transmission has also been revamped, with the gearbox becoming more compact and gaining new gear ratios, a solution that allows better utilization of the engine’s power across different speed ranges during motocross and enduro riding.
The structure of the CRF450R has also undergone profound changes: approximately 70% of the frame has been redesigned, with new structural sections, revised materials, and updated manufacturing processes to increase rigidity without raising the total weight of the motorcycle.
The new frame works in conjunction with a lighter aluminum rear swingarm with a new shape, which facilitates access to the air filter during maintenance operations, simplifying the work of mechanic teams in competitions and daily use.
Technologies derived from HRC competition bikes

The HRC Launch Control and the Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) now use calibrations inspired by the brand’s competition motorcycles, aiming to offer more precise and controlled responses in different usage conditions and terrain profiles.
The Engine Mode Select Button (EMSB) remains available, a system that allows the rider to change the engine’s behavior by selecting different operating modes, adapting the machine’s response to the specific demands of each type of competition or terrain.
Another highlight is the new Back Torque Limiter (BTL), a reverse torque limiter activated by a rubber damper which, according to Honda, represents an unprecedented solution in the segment developed based on the official HRC team’s experience in the Motocross World Championship.
The side deflectors and covers have been redesigned to create a more uniform surface between the front and rear of the motorcycle, with symmetrically designed sides and deeper cutouts in the rear area to improve the rider’s leg grip during intense accelerations.
CRF450 HRC-WE and visual identity of the new generation
For the first time, the CRF450RX uses the narrow titanium fuel tank already present in the motocross version, a change that contributes to weight reduction and the standardization of technical specifications among the family models.
The main novelty of the CRF family is the arrival of the CRF450 HRC-WE (Works Edition), a limited version that incorporates exclusive components inspired by Honda Racing Corporation’s factory motorcycles, combining cutting-edge technology with the exclusivity of a high-performance special edition.

Among the exclusives of the exclusive version are the manually finished intake and exhaust ducts, Twinair filter, and Yoshimura titanium exhaust system, consisting of specific collector and silencer, as well as exclusive suspension components and a seat with differentiated finish.
All CRF 2027 models will be offered in Extreme Red color, with new graphics inspired by the Honda Racing Corporation teams, greater presence of the color blue, and expanded use of the Honda logo, a strategy that seeks to unify the visual identity of all the brand’s sports activities.
Honda Brazil has not confirmed the commercialization of the CRF 2027 line in the national market, and the manufacturer has also not disclosed information about the prices of the versions that will initially arrive in the European market at the beginning of the new off-road competition season.
