Petrobras ended 2020 with the fifth consecutive annual record of pre-salt oil processing, reaching a volume 11.6% higher than that processed in the previous year, which was 9,355,410 m³.
According to the statement, the determining factors for Replan’s high performance were the high degree of operational availability of the refinery and the increased production from the pre-salt field platforms.

Among the pre-salt oils processed in November at Replan, the highlights are the Búzios, Sapinhoá, Tupi, and Atapu oils. Oil production from the pre-salt layer has increased significantly in recent years and has contributed to the reduced processing of imported light oils, as pre-salt oils are lighter than oils from post-salt fields.
According to Petrobras, in addition to the volumetric record of pre-salt oil, Replan also registered in 2020 the highest percentage of these oils concerning the fresh load processed, with 58.7%. In 2019, this index had been 49.4% at the refinery.
Petrobras Ended 2020 With Many Production Records
In 2020, Replan was responsible for 18% of all Diesel S-10 produced in Brazil. If we consider the total diesel production of Replan last year, including S-500, the refinery reached 8,749,116 m³, which represents 22% of all diesel in the country and the best result for the unit in the last four years.
Highlights also include the production of derivatives such as asphalt CAP 30/45 and propylene, where the refinery achieved the best result in the last seven years, 8% higher than in 2019.
Moreover, petrochemical naphtha reached a historical mark at Replan, with 555,904 tons for the year. Regarding OCEX production, the result was the best in the last 16 years, with 346,250 tons.
Additionally, Bunker, the fuel oil used in ship engines with a sulfur content of 0.5%, which began to be produced at Replan in the first half of 2019, had 835,453 tons in 2020.
