Energy production through Distributed Generation has been gaining more and more prominence in the national scenario, which is why the 14th Regional Forum on Distributed Generation in the Southern Region (Forum GD – Southern Region) was a success, as more than two thousand people attended the event, according to the FRG Media & Events Group, the organizing company.
Taking place between July 21, 22, and 23, the event promoted by the Brazilian Association of Distributed Generation (ABGD) happened in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, and received participants from all over the country. The focus was to discuss the GD production chain in the southern region of the country, which has been growing considerably in recent months, with the state of Rio Grande do Sul ranking third nationally among states.
Guilherme Chrispim, president of ABGD, emphasizes that the event was truly quite timely, as it welcomed various representatives from the sector such as integrator companies, financial sector companies, manufacturing companies, as well as distributors.

A ton of old cell phones can contain up to 800 times more gold than a ton of ore extracted from a mine, according to the UN, and it is this hidden wealth in drawers that drives so-called urban mining, which can even be turned into Olympic medals.
“It was a great opportunity for us to engage in extensive networking, without a doubt, but also to listen to various lectures of very high quality on technologies and market trends. I also highlight the second day, during which we had a very necessary and productive debate on inverter manufacturers, their quality, and what we can do to improve safety issues,” he states.
Qualifying Content of the Forum Was Highlighted
In addition to the networking mentioned by Chrispim, the 14th edition of Forum GD – Southern Region also stood out for its content. Frederico Boschin, a board member of ABGD, expressed a very good impression of the event, noting that participants could exchange a lot of information, as well as a wealth of qualified content.
“The dynamics of the simultaneous transmission panels brought a lot of dynamism and significantly increased the dissemination of both the technical content from manufacturers and the more regulatory debate, which is my area, regarding both the free energy market and distributed generation,” he highlights.
Furthermore, Frederico also emphasized that the event featured three very intense days and provided opportunities to reconnect with friends and industry specialists.
“There were three intense days of knowledge exchange, case studies, and it’s always very interesting to have this gathering of the market, to see friends and colleagues again, which is a good event for everyone,” he states.
