The Brazilian Navy Opens Registrations for a New Public Competition Soon. There Are Hundreds of Vacancies for the High School Competition Available in Several Locations Across the Country.
The Brazilian Navy published this Thursday (14) its latest announcement for a high school competition for admission to the Schools of Apprentice Sailors (EAMs). Registrations will begin to be accepted on January 29 of next year and the public competition offers 600 vacancies, distributed with 504 for men and 96 for women.

Candidates for the public competition of the Brazilian Navy must have completed or be in the process of completing the third year of high school, in addition to being between 18 and 21 years of age, completed by June 30, 2025.
Other requirements demanded by the Navy for its vacancies are: to be a natural-born or naturalized Brazilian of both sexes, not to have children or dependents, not to be married or have established a stable union, due to incompatibility with the required training regime, not to have been failed for insufficient grade or for disciplinary issues incompatible with military status, previously in C-FMN.

With a duration of 48 weeks, the sailors’ training course is conducted, under a boarding regime, at the Schools of Apprentice Sailors (EAMs) located in Fortaleza (CE), Recife (PE), Vitória (ES), and Florianópolis (SC).
During the training period, those approved in the Brazilian Navy high school competition receive an initial salary of R$ 1,303.90, plus uniform, food, and medical-dental, social, psychological, and religious assistance.
After graduation, the salary increases to R$ 2,294.50. It is important to note that, at the time of registration, in addition to listing the order of preference by municipality, candidates can choose one of three professional areas available for specialization within the Armed Forces: electroelectronics, support, or mechanics.

Registrations begin on January 29 and can be received until February 18, at 11:59 PM Brasília time, by filling out an electronic form available on the Brazilian Navy’s website. The registration fee is R$ 40.
The deadline for those who plan to request a fee waiver will be open until February 2 (by mail) and February 5 (in-person service). The announcement provides for exemption from payment for individuals who meet one of the following conditions:

- Are bone marrow donors recognized by the Ministry of Health.
- Are part of a family registered in the Unified Registry for Social Programs (CadÚnico) of the federal government.
Selection Process for Vacancies in the Brazilian Navy
Scheduled for April 13, the objective test for the public competition vacancies will require the resolution of 50 multiple-choice questions on Portuguese language, physics, mathematics, chemistry, and English language. There will be test application in all regions of Brazil:
- Manaus (AM);
- Belo Horizonte (MG);
- Olinda (PE);
- Fortaleza (CE);
- São Luís (MA);
- Ladário (MS);
- Florianópolis (SC);
- São Paulo and Santos (SP);
- Natal (RN);
- Salvador (BA);
- Vila Velha (ES);
- Rio Grande and Porto Alegre (RS);
- Brasília (DF);
- Belém (PA);
- Rio de Janeiro, Angra dos Reis, Nova Friburgo, and São Pedro da Aldeia (RJ).
The other phases of the Brazilian Navy high school competition include document submission, health inspection, psychological evaluation, and physical fitness testing, which must include running and swimming, between June and August. The start of the course is scheduled for January 27, 2025.
