With Rubinho’s Experience at the Wheel, the Artura Proved to be a Car That Not Only Accelerates the Hearts of Motorsport Enthusiasts but Also Represents a Significant Step in the Evolution of Hybrid Supercars.
The McLaren Artura, a hybrid supercar with 680 horsepower, recently faced a speed test with none other than Rubens Barrichello, the famous “Rubinho,” at the wheel. The event, held by the Acelerados channel, showcased the impressive capabilities of this innovative vehicle.
Innovative Design and Performance
The Artura, a hybrid model from renowned manufacturer McLaren, represents a milestone in the company’s history, following in the footsteps of its hybrid predecessors, the P1 and Speedtail. This “baby hybrid,” as Rubinho called it, is a more continuous production car, distinguishing itself from previous special models. Equipped with a 3.0 V6 twin-turbo engine and a hybrid system, the Artura impresses with its 680 horsepower and a new architecture that includes a carbon monocoque.
Rubinho highlighted the unique color of the Artura, called “Amazon Color,” which shifts from green to purple depending on the viewing angle. This exclusive detail adds an additional cost of £27,000 to the vehicle’s price, which is already around 3 million reais.

Electrifying Driving Experience
During the test, Rubinho experienced the Artura’s 100% electric mode, which allows for quiet, efficient driving, ideal for urban routes. The car can run up to 30 km in this mode and reach speeds of up to 160 km/h. However, the real highlight was the on-track performance, where the Artura demonstrated its power and acceleration capabilities. It may not be the fastest electric car in the world like the Rimac Nevera featured by AutoEsporte, but it is an unprecedented evolution.
Rubinho, with his extensive motorsport experience, was visibly impressed with the Artura’s power delivery. He noted that while it is a powerful car, the Artura offers a more controlled driving experience compared to other McLaren models. The power delivery is intense but at the same time manageable, making the Artura an exceptional vehicle for both tracks and roads.
