Mercedes-Benz Confirms Launch of 18 New Cars in 2026, Including 9 Combustion Engine Models and 9 Electric Models, Marking the Most Intense Debut Period for the Automaker in Recent Years, According to CEO Ola Källenius.
By considering electric and combustion versions as distinct models, Mercedes aims to reach diverse audiences. One example is the new CLA Shooting Brake Hybrid, listed as a combustion engine launch even after the arrival of the electric version in 2025.
The Targeting Strategy Includes Three Price Ranges: entry-level, mid-range, and top-tier. In 2026, in the entry-level category, a combustion model and two electric models are expected. In the mid-range segment — referred to by the brand as “core” — two combustion engine models and two electric models will be launched.
Premium Range Will Also Be Updated with Combustion Engine
In the high-end segment, Mercedes is preparing five new combustion models and five electric models. According to Källenius, the majority of luxury line customers still prefer traditional engine vehicles, despite the advancements in electrification.

Japan and Mercosur may reach an agreement to lower the cost of cars and auto parts, with manufacturers like Toyota, Honda, and Nissan coming into focus.
However, the company emphasizes that it will continue investing in both technologies. Källenius states that “for at least the next 10 years, we will have combustion and electric engines side by side,” indicating that the end of thermal engines is still far off for the automaker.
Electrification Remains a Strategic Priority, even in the face of a slower transition than previously estimated. The company expects to offer electric versions for all relevant models by the end of the decade.
Forecast for 2027 Includes 13 More Unique Models
The launch offensive will extend until 2027, with six combustion models and six electric models in the luxury segment, along with two thermal models and one electric model in the mid-range category and one entry model with a combustion engine.
According to the website Top Gear, the new all-electric generation of the GLC will be unveiled at the Munich Motor Show in September 2026. The C-Class, launched in 2021, may receive a facelift as part of this innovation package.
The brand is also considering the renewal of popular models such as the A-Class, which could return to the entry range with a new thermal engine, maintaining diversity in the product offering for different consumer profiles.
Information was disclosed by the British magazine Top Gear, based on statements from Mercedes-Benz CEO Ola Källenius during an interview about the brand’s launch schedule for the coming years.
