Slots, Affirmative Actions, and Requirements
The Master’s in Special Education offers 25 slots, with 5 reserved for affirmative actions aimed at black individuals, indigenous people, people with disabilities, and transgender individuals.
Applications are open to candidates who already have a bachelor’s degree or who will complete their degree by the enrollment date in 2026.
UFSCar highlights that the selection process is rigorous and involves three elimination phases:
- Written Exam in Portuguese: Conducted in person, it assesses argumentative skills and textual clarity.
- Evaluation of the Research Project: Anonymous analysis of the project, which must align with one of the program’s research lines.
- Oral Defense of the Project: Online presentation of the project to a panel of three faculty members, with 15 minutes for presentation and questioning.
The minimum passing grade for each stage is 6.0, and the final classification is determined by the average of the three phases.

Applications for the free master’s will be open from July 1 to August 29, 2025, exclusively online. The candidate must submit all required documentation in the notice, including the research project.
