Edits App Bets on Artificial Intelligence and Integration with Instagram to Dominate the Video Editing Market
A Meta launches app that is leaving CapCut behind, targeting content creators looking for speed and quality in video editing. The new app, called Edits, is already available in some regions and has attracted attention for its AI-based features.
According to an official statement from Meta, Edits was developed to provide a smoother and more professional experience, with features that natively integrate with Instagram. The proposal is simple: reduce editing time and increase video reach, without requiring advanced technical knowledge.
AI, Filters, and Synergy with Social Networks

The main bet of the new app is intelligent editing with AI. Users can apply cuts, transitions, captions, and visual effects with a few clicks, all generated automatically from the original content. Meta claims that Edits learns from the user’s style to suggest personalized adjustments.

Another highlight is the exclusive filters that are updated in real time, allowing users to adapt videos to the latest trends on Instagram. According to the company, the goal is to facilitate the production of viral content while maintaining the creator’s visual identity.
Integration with Instagram Changes the Game
Unlike apps like CapCut, Edits is integrated into the Meta ecosystem. This means that performance statistics, likes, comments, and engagement influence the app’s suggestion algorithm, allowing for more strategic adjustments to content before publication.
Meta highlights that this direct integration offers competitive advantages to users seeking growth on platforms like Reels, Stories, and Feed. Additionally, synchronization with Instagram reduces the time between editing and publishing, optimizing real-time production.
Is CapCut at a Disadvantage?

Although CapCut remains the leader in downloads globally, the launch of Edits represents a clear move by Meta to regain ground in the short video creation space. By combining AI with social data and a more connected interface to the company’s networks, the app positions itself as a robust — and native — alternative for digital influencers.
There is still no official release date for Brazil, but testing is being carried out on selected accounts in North America and Europe.
