The expansion work has already begun and is expected to be completed by the second half of 2021. Upon completion, the Star Project is set to represent one of the largest private investments in the last 20 years in the state of São Paulo.
Star Project: Expansion and Jobs in São Paulo
When the expansion in São Paulo is completed in 2021, Bracell is expected to employ approximately 6,600 direct and contracted workers. The expansion plan will feature the latest technologies aimed at a next-generation pulp and paper mill.
Bracell is one of the world’s largest producers of dissolving pulp and specialty cellulose, with two main operations in Brazil located in Camaçari, Bahia, and Lençóis Paulista, São Paulo.
