Vale Mining Company Opens Applications for Two 2023 Recent Graduate Programs, the Global Trainee Program and the Engineering and Geology Specialist Trainee Program. In total, the company offers 120 positions, distributed across Espírito Santo, Goiás, Pará, Maranhão, and Rio de Janeiro.
Currently, Vale Mining Company is looking for recent graduates with a spirit of collaboration to join a work environment that values diversity, respect, and inclusion. In this regard, Mira Moronha, Global Talent Attraction Manager at Vale, pointed out that the miner’s institute aims to allow selected professionals to explore, learn, and expand their skills to occupy, in the short and long term, strategic positions within the company.
Furthermore, she states that Vale Mining Company values cultural diversity and seeks candidates aligned with the cultural transformation process the company is undergoing, which reflects in its social and integrative actions. In summary, the Specialist Trainee Program aims to expand the technical knowledge of professionals in the areas of mining and logistics. In total, there are 80 positions for individuals who graduated in engineering or geology, with a degree completed between December 2019 and March 2023, who are willing to relocate. The program lasts 18 months, and some positions may require intermediate English from the candidates.
A major new aspect of this edition is the opportunity for specialist trainees to experience supervisory positions in the short or medium term, with a chance to develop and prepare for leadership roles in the future. Meanwhile, the Global Trainee Program offers 40 positions for candidates with a broad, systemic, and strategic view of the business, who must possess a digital mindset to integrate into Vale Mining Company’s team.

To compete for one of the positions, candidates must have advanced English proficiency, as well as availability for relocations and/or travel. Essentially, the development program will focus on business and project management, and will also include job rotations, offering a great opportunity to work in various areas within the mining operations in Brazil. Thus, Vale Mining Company will conduct the selection process discreetly until the last stage. For this edition, the company aims to achieve at least 50% hiring of women, in addition to prioritizing the hiring of Black professionals, PwD, and the LGBTQIA+ community.
The selection process for the 2023 Recent Graduate Program is scheduled for September of this year, until February 2023. The hiring of the selected candidates is expected to take place in May 2023.
