Thus, the new battery recycling plant will be completely free of carbon emissions in its activities.
Company Aims To Cover All Stages Of Battery Recycling In Its New Plant Over The Next Few Years
For the coming years, the goal of Mercedes-Benz with the new plant project in Germany is to make it even more efficient in its initial objective. Thus, the automotive company intends to develop all stages of battery recycling at the plant.
The goal is to carry out everything from dismantling at the module level, through crushing and drying, to the processing of raw materials for battery manufacturing.
According to the company, this entire process allows for a “true circular economy of the raw materials for battery manufacturing.”
The multinational’s projection for its new plant is that it will have an annual capacity of 2,500 tons during the first years of operation. However, it highlighted that, in the medium to long term, these numbers will be expanded according to the company’s needs.
Mercedes-Benz is now proceeding with the investments for the construction project of the new battery recycling plant in Germany.
