Great Japanese Multinational MODEC Is Hiring Technical Professionals in Mechanics, Instrumentation, and Mechanical Engineering for Supervisor in Mechanics, Instrumentation Technician, and Rotating Equipment Specialist Positions. Continue Reading to Learn About the Job Details.

MODEC recently announced on its official profile job openings for Mechanical Supervisor and Instrumentation Technician. Recently, the Japanese company contracted UMS Safe Concordia, owned by Prosafe, which carried out a maintenance campaign on the FPSO Cidade de Niterói and has been supporting the FPSO Cidade de Angra dos Reis. Moreover, Modec and SBM are the largest demanders, as they are the largest operators of FPSOs in Brazil, together accounting for 18 units (17 FPSOs and one FSO).

In the years 2014 and 2015, more than 10 floating units operated simultaneously on the Brazilian coast, but nowadays only six UMSs are in Brazil, being three with Petrobras: the Tiradentes, with a contract until August, the Prosafe Notos, under contract until 2020, and the Posh Xanadu, with a short-term contract until August.

About the Job Openings

Mechanical Supervisor, Requirements:

  • Technical Course in Mechanics
  • Fluent English
  • Experience in FPSO, Tanker Ship, or Petrochemical
  • Total mobility required; international experience will be a differential.

To apply for the position, the candidate must have the ability to solve problems, supervise, and execute maintenance activities to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all equipment and machinery, including machines and equipment related to the maintenance and restoration department, emergency equipment, and according to the Planned Maintenance System (AMOS).

Instrumentation Technician, Requirements:

  • Technical Course in Instrumentation
  • CFTT
  • Intermediate English
  • Ability to perform maintenance activities to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all installation instruments
  • Good communication, innovative thinking, and organizational engagement

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Desirable postgraduate degree in Mechanics
