New Discovery Is In The Jandaia Sul Field, The Recôncavo Basin, Bahia Has Been Producing From This Field Since August 2017
Petrobras announced the discovery in the onshore field of Jandaia Sul, in the Recôncavo Basin, located in the central-east of the State of Bahia.
The field has an approximate area of 12,000 km² and the new discovery was made through the well 7-JNDS-3DP-BA.
Petrobras operates the field, which is on land, with a 100% stake and acquired it in the 12th round of ANP concessions.
With the new discovery, production from the Jandaia Sul field will increase, as in January, production was 64 bopd and 351 m³/d of natural gas, totaling 66.2 boed, according to ANP data.

The Jandaia Sul field was discovered in April 2015 and eight months later, in December, it was declared commercially viable.
Production began in August 2017 and the API gravity of the oil from the field is 37.2º.
Third Discovery Of The Year
2019 was a year of discoveries in the Recôncavo of Bahia, evidence of oil in this new discovery in the Jandaia Sul field is the third of the year.
The previous discoveries were in the Peroba field, which is operated by Petrobras, with 40%, in partnership with BP, which also has 40% and with CNODC which has 20%, in block REC-T-80 (Petrobras 100%) and in REC-T-128, which is operated by GeoPark, with 70%, in consortium with Geopar Geosol, with 30%.
