Tarform in the Sustainable Motorcycle Market – The Revolution of the Industry
The company is entering the electric vehicle sector, competing with several startups of sustainable motorcycles that are trying to attract combustion motorcycle consumers to electric mobility. Tarform competes with Zero Motorcycles, which has 200 dealerships worldwide and launched its SR/F in 2019 at a price of US$ 19,000.
Zero’s electric motorcycle can achieve a range of 259 km and reach a maximum speed of 200 km/h. Furthermore, another company that is expanding in the United States with sustainable motorcycles is the Italian Energica.
In 2020, the famous American Harley Davidson became one of the largest companies to provide an electric motorcycle for the streets, with the LiveWire costing around US$ 29,000. Lastly, Tarform also intends to compete with Damon Motors, a startup that debuted its Hypersport electric motorcycle with a range of 320 km/h at a price of around US$ 24,000 this year.
Tarform’s Plans with Sustainable Motorcycles
Taras Kravtchouk, the founder of the company, states that the electric motorcycle is aimed at consumers who desire a technological and personalized bike. He explained that the company does not prioritize competing with the electric motorcycle players.
“We are far from the production of Zero or other companies, but that is not our focus. The electric motorcycle we produce is not meant to be the fastest or to have the longest range.” He states that the company decided to build a motorcycle that completely reviews the production and supply chain of sustainable motorcycles, in a way that the materials are acquired ethically.
