Omega Energy announced that it has signed a supply agreement with the German multinational Bayer. The contract for the solar and wind power plants will last about 10 years and ensures that all the energy consumed by Bayer’s units in Uberlândia, Paracatu, Campo Verde, Itaí, Cachoeira Dourada, Paulínia, Petrolina, and Belford Roxo is from 100% renewable sources.

The 10-year contract with Omega Energy provides for the reception of a highly sustainable solar and wind power plant. This clean energy will prevent the emission of more than 100,000 tons of CO2 throughout the contract period, which will start in 2024 and run until 2033.

According to Fabiana Polido, Commercial Director of Omega Energy, the company is celebrating being part of this new step for Bayer multinational toward sustainability, which, like Omega, understands its important responsibility in environmental preservation.
For Bayer’s Vice President of Product Supply for Latin America, Rogério Andrade, the agreement with the energy company is an important step the multinational is taking to achieve its sustainability goals, aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The executive’s goal with the solar plant is for Bayer multinational to become a company with zero carbon emissions across its value chain by 2030, reducing its environmental impact.
