The Log-In Polaris will operate in national cabotage, representing an investment of around US$ 28.5 million and was financed through a line of credit backed by a financial institution that supports Chinese exports.
The ship’s construction began in January 2018 and according to Log-In, it met all the company’s deadlines and quality requirements. According to Log-In’s planning, the ship will enter operation in the fourth quarter of 2019.

The nuclear submarine that never arrives: The Álvaro Alberto project has accumulated 47 years of development, R$ 40 billion spent since 2008, and may now be delayed until 2037 due to a lack of R$ 1 billion in the Brazilian Navy’s coffers.
The company released an official note highlighting that it is following the planning for fleet expansion, after the cancellation of the contract in 2017 with EISA S.A (Estaleiro Ilha) from Rio de Janeiro.
Contracts In Brazil
The contract with EISA was signed by Log-In in 2007 and foresaw the construction of five container ships, but only two ordered ships were delivered.
With the declaration of the judicial recovery request by EISA, Log-In canceled the order for hulls EI-506, EI-507, and EI-508 due to delays of more than 30 days in the delivery deadlines set in the contract, as well as non-compliance with contractual clauses.
The five ships to be built were 2,800 TEU container ships, the “Log-In Jacarandá” and the “Log-In Jatobá,” which were delivered in 2011. The other three ships, the “Log-In Jequitibá” (hull EI-506) and EI-507 and EI-508, should have been delivered by the end of 2017, but were not.
In another contract with EISA, Log-In received between 2012 and 2015, two bulk carriers of 80,000 TPB, the “Log-In Tambaqui” and the “Log-In Tucunaré” that had been ordered in July 2009.
