The Nissan Leaf 2022 is a restyled model of the second generation, which debuted in 2018. And, as such, it features news in its exterior design and changes in its interior, check out all the details.

Nissan decided to keep the two battery options that already existed, without any improvement in autonomy, which is the main 'failure' for car experts. automotive industry relative to its potential rivals. For 2022, the manufacturer reduced the price of the Leaf by up to US$ 6.500, reducing the MSRP for a base model to US$ 27.400, abroad. On the outside of Nissan's model, there have been some minor changes that only the most enthusiastic Leaf fans will notice, with the main change being the introduction of new 16-inch and 17-inch black alloy wheel options. In addition, the new Nissan logo has been added to the wheels, front and rear grille.

Two new paint options join the five existing options and five bicolors, called Pearl Blue and Magnetic Blue. There are two battery options available, with the larger offering up to 385km of range.

the latest technology PROPILOT means the 2022 Nissan Leaf can stop, start and maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead without the driver using the pedals, while the e-Pedal system, which gives the driver the ability to accelerate and decelerate using just the accelerator, remains.

Despite the addition of technology, new buyers of the Nissan Leaf 2022 complain about autonomy

The new Nissan Leaf 2022 features the NissanConnect multimedia system, compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and Wi-Fi connection for up to seven devices in the vehicle. In addition, it allows controlling the vehicle from a mobile device, through the specific Nissan application, functions such as air conditioning or navigation, in addition to reviewing information regarding consumption.

It can also be linked to virtual assistance devices such as Alexa.   However, among the most important improvements is the review of the ProPilot system already highlighted above, which is semi-autonomous driving. While the engine and battery have not been touched, there are no changes of any kind in this section.

This means that it will be available in both a 40 kWh version and a 62 kWh version. The best of its settings reaches up to 385 km, which is undoubtedly a low autonomy considering the most recent releases on the market.

Nissan Leaf will have its two versions when it arrives definitively in Brazil

In the case of the most economical version, which offers 110 kW (150 hp) and a 40 kWh battery, the range is just 270 km. This data means that the Nissan Leaf 2020, as well as the previous version of the model, are not cars designed to leave the city. O Nissan Leaf 2022 will be available from April 2022 and with a starting price of approximately 19.000 euros.

With regard to the Brazilian automotive market, last week Nissan do Brasil promoted a different test drive for a group of journalists from Minas Gerais. The program included a round trip to the historic city of Ouro Preto, on a winding route with stretches of mountains. The group departed from the headquarters of the Carbel Japan dealership, at Avenida Barão Homem de Melo, 3400, last Wednesday afternoon (17) and spent the night in the first capital of Minas Gerais.

The Leaf was the best-selling model with an electric motor in the segment last year, with around 500 units, an incipient volume in the general context of the market, but which is still a good number when it comes to a model with a disruptive proposal.

In 2019, Nissan started importing the model to Brazil, available only in 7 cities. Now, in 2022, Leaf will be available in 34 cities, covering 15 states and the Federal District.
