Niterói Leaving Its Mark as One of the Biggest Supporters of Offshore! Nitshore Wins Bid Promoted by Oil Company ExxonMobil.

Nitshore, responsible for the management of Terminal 2 at the Port of Niterói, won the bid promoted by ExxonMobil to provide logistical support services to the oil company in the Brazilian offshore. The contracts covering the major’s projects in the Southeast and Northeast regions will last for 18 months starting from July this year.

Nitshore operates at the Port of Niterói (RJ), in an integrated area of 125 thousand m², featuring a 430 m long quay and a draft of 7.5 m.

The company offers end-to-end logistics services, including cargo handling, customs clearance for import and export, warehousing, fluid tanking, water and fuel supply, waste management, and naval repairs.

The oil company ExxonMobil operates 13 exploratory blocks in Brazil, five in Sergipe, four in Campos, three in Santos, and one in Alagoas.

Last week, the ANP approved the transfer of participation in the POT-M-475 and CE-M-603 concessions from the American company to Ouro Preto Óleo e Gás (OP Energia) and Azibrás.

Brazilian Researcher Revolutionizes and Transforms “Oil Water” into Ethanol and Methanol

The Brazilian researcher, Juliana Ferreira de Brito, has managed to transform one of the waste products of oil production, known as oil water, into ethanol and methanol. The discovery brings economic, social, and environmental benefits.

About 40 billion liters of “oil water” are generated daily. It would be possible to generate 8 billion liters of methanol and 50 million liters of ethanol.
